1st French Seminar

June 7th & 8th we organized the first Institute French seminar of our on line dojo.
This event was co-organized with the Toulouse Shubukan where our sensei Lionel Reynaud is teaching on weekly basis.

A Huge program

These day were intensive ones : we reviewed and strengthened the Basis of our Okinawan Karate with the Hojo Undo and the Kyu Katas.
We also worked the Kote Kitae and Ashi Kitae using the precepts of the Old Way.

Kote Kitae

Lionel insisted a lot on the duality of our Karate also called Half Hard Half Soft Karate and make us to work a lot on the different stances trying to generate our techniques from the ground using the whole body.

Kyu & Dan Kumite

Being together was a great opportunity for our on line students to train with a partner through the different kumite of our style (Dan & Kyu Kumite).
After having spent many hours to improve their techniques, we experimented in real life and were happy to check that all the aspects of our on line learning were applicables and working super well.

Putting our learning into application

Improving the 8 katas of Uechi-Ryu

We spent as well lot of energy to review and improve our katas (Sanchin, Kanshiwa, Kanshu, Seichin, Seisan, Seiyu, Kanchin, Sanseiryu) and worked on the different bunkais.

Introduction to Para-Karate

Based on his former experience of Paracycling Coach, Lionel invited Shubukan’s disable practitioner to the seminar and we discovered with him how our Sensei adapted the techniques and the kata to allow disable people to discover our way of Karate.

Uechi-Ryu Karate for everyone

It was a fantastic moment of fraternity and exchange, allowing us to use our dojomate tips for stability to improve as well our own body structure.
Super Interesting !

Shodan Test & Kyu tests

During this intensive days some of us were tested (from beginners level to Black belt) and Yohann gained his Shodan (Black Belt).

1st degree Black Belt Ceremony

Thank you Lionel, we are impatient to meet again very soon !
