上地流唐手研究所 Uechi-Ryu Karate Kenkyujo
The Institute of Uechi-Ryu has been created by Lionel Reynaud Sensei to spread Uechi-Ryu Karate and to allow advanced practitioners to reconnect to the essence of Uechi Kanei sensei and Tomoyose Ryuko sensei Karate Methodology.
This specific Karate also known as the OldWay™ populated by Mattson sensei from 2019.
As said by the GrandMaster : ‘ The OldWay™ successfully taught what I call “body flow” that sort of reverse-engineers body movement, maximizes energy, power, speed, and timing into a combined “body flow” in an amazingly effective, fast, and simple way.’
Uechi-Ryu Karate (上地流唐手道)
Uechi-Ryu is a traditional style of Okinawan Karate based on Chinese Tiger Fist Boxing (Fujian Province). Our style is always described as “half-hard, half-soft” Karate. This combination makes the techniques very powerful and applicables to self-defence.

Our Sensei (Lionel Reynaud)
The On-Line Program and our Virtual Dojo have been build and designed by Lionel Reynaud sensei.
Lionel is teaching within the Mattson Academy (Miami) and in Europe; Lionel has been awarded Jun Shihan by Mattson sensei in 2019 within the IUKF.
